Brightening Communities through Solar Energy: The Nationwide ANFAQA Initiative

ANFAQA, a collaborative #dakwahkreatif initiative by Yayasan WIBA Prima and Green Xperts, is a beacon of hope for socio-economic empowerment and environmental sustainability. ANFAQA aims to ease the financial burden on community centres such as mosques and schools by providing free solar energy solutions, significantly reducing electricity costs.

The program's straightforward yet impactful mission is to supply solar-powered electricity to eligible mosques and schools. What makes ANFAQA unique is its commitment to offering these services at no cost. The entire expense of the solar systems and their installation is fully funded for qualifying institutions.

By adopting solar energy, mosques and schools can decrease their reliance on traditional electricity grids, cut down operational costs, and contribute to a greener future. This initiative offers two primary  benefits:

Cost Savings: Participating mosques and schools can save up to 20% on their monthly electricity bills. This financial relief allows them to redirect resources to other essential needs, such as educational programs and community outreach.

Environmental Stewardship: By using solar power, these institutions become eco-friendly and environmentally conscious. They reduce carbon emissions and dependency on non-renewable energy, fostering a greener community.

One of the success stories for ANFAQA is the partnership with Yayasan Pendidikan Maahad Tahfiz al Quran wal Qiraat ADDIN Perak in Padang Rengas, Perak. As a registered tahfiz institution, they embraced the opportunity to install solar panels for free. The installation was completed successfully with the technical support of Soluxions Xperts, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards sustainability.

Recently, a Supply Agreement Renewable Energy (SARE) was signed with Yayasan Pendidikan Maahad Tahfiz al Quran wal Qiraat ADDIN Perak to install solar PV systems at their facilities, starting with Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Wal Qiraat ADDIN 6 and 14 in Perak. This initiative is expected to save RM700 monthly, RM8,300 annually, and RM550,000 over the contract's duration.

This collaboration empowers Islamic institutions to manage energy efficiently, supporting Malaysia's goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. It also aligns with the Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER) and Perak Sejahtera 2030, opening job opportunities in related sectors.
