In the year 2020, the world faced unprecedented challenges in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to global health and economic crises. In response, countries worldwide turned to digital technologies as a lifeline to navigate these crises. These digital innovations heavily rely on wireless communication systems, and Malaysia, a rapidly developing nation in Asia, is making significant strides in enhancing its local wireless connectivity.

NST Data, a wholly Bumiputera-owned company, stands at a unique advantage in entering the Information and Communications Technology industry. NST Data has held a Network Facility Provider (NFP) license granted by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) since 2016. Today, we are actively engaged as telecommunication access partners in regions such as Perak, Klang Valley, and Terengganu.

One of NST Data's remarkable innovations is the Mobile Base Transceiver Station (MBTS), a technology that facilitates wireless communication between user equipment and a wireless network. What sets MBTS apart is its mobility; it can be towed using a pickup truck and contains a complete equipment ecosystem within itself to power the telecommunication structure. Setting up an MBTS takes less than an hour and offers connectivity within a 500-meter radius. This infrastructure can be easily transported on a trailer, enabling rapid cellular network expansion and the establishment of point-to-point radio connections, particularly during special events or emergencies. MBTS serves as a temporary solution before permanent ones are established by larger telecommunication companies.

NST Data envisions leveraging this business model as a unique offering in the market. Being the only NFP capable of providing fast-temporary structures, we empower telecommunication companies to respond swiftly to market demand. Importantly, MBTS installations require no civil works or foundations, eliminating the need for local authorities intervention. This product aligns perfectly with the communication industry's demands.

Looking ahead, NST Data is exploring the possibility of introducing a "floating MBTS" as part of our advanced solutions to address emergency flood situations. Our MBTS supports wireless network connectivity for 4G and 5G, as well as various other technologies like GSM, CDMA, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and more, catering to the diverse needs of mobile phones and computers.

As a proud member of the #WeAreTheXPERTS consortium, NST Data is thrilled to announce itself as a pioneer in the local licensed network industry, providing innovative mobile structures. This achievement is a significant milestone in Malaysia's digitalization journey, and we are fully committed to rising to the occasion and driving forward progress in the telecommunications sector.
