“Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!” A moment etched in history, resonating across the ages. Commemorating Malaysia's 66th Independence Day, #WeAreTheXperts embarked on an enduring journey to rekindle the spirit of independence and freedom, echoing the valor of our forefathers. Embracing the hashtag of #XpertsForMalaysia, our internal campaign unfolded, spanning from August 1st to September 16th, coinciding with the celebration of Malaysia Day. In fact, as part of the initiative, represented by the hashtag #XpertsMemilih, #WeAreTheXperts were given a valuable two-days work-from-home (WFH) for those voting in the recent state elections in August, so they can make their way to their respective hometowns to cast their vote. #XpertsMemilih Cuti - the ensuing public holiday for Selangor, all in support for democracy.
In addition, as a tribute to our nation's rich tapestry, we held an entertaining array of activities, among which we featured an engaging challenge known as "Tell or Talents." In this challenge, participants were given two choices: to answer the profound meaning of 'Merdeka' or to reveal their hidden talents. Interestingly, participants shared their wisdom to the true meaning of 'Merdeka' and some displayed their unique talents. #WeAreTheXperts were indeed a bunch of good sports; each of them participated well to the various activities with their unique creative energy, making the celebration exuberant and memorable.
These initiatives not only sparked creativity, but they also rekindled the spirit of unity. This campaign's legacy resides in its power to instill gratitude within us for the sacrifices made in pursuing our nation's autonomy, a united Malaysia. After all, as the country grows, we grow, too.
